As the world marks the 27th anniversary of Princess Diana’s passing on August 27, a new documentary aims to shed light on the circumstances surrounding her tragic death. Princess Diana, affectionately known as “The People’s Princess,” died in a car accident in Paris in 1997 at just 36 years old, alongside her boyfriend Dodi Al Fayed and driver Henri Paul.
Nearly three decades later, the documentary titled “Who Killed Diana?” revisits the event that continues to captivate global attention. According to “Deadline,” the series will feature rare interviews, including first-ever sit-downs with key sources, offering new insights into the case.
The documentary is a collaboration between EverWonder Studio and Empress Films, the production companies behind other high-profile documentaries like “Depp vs. Heard” and “The Mystery of Marilyn Monroe.” This three-part series is the first in a planned franchise that aims to explore the mysterious deaths of iconic figures, uncovering new information and examining the historical and human context surrounding these cases.
Jon Adler, head of talent and content development at EverWonder, emphasized the importance of approach and access in their investigation, promising to move the narrative forward with fresh voices and insights. Director and executive producer Emma Cooper, known for her work on “The Mystery of Marilyn Monroe,” expressed her commitment to exploring Diana’s story with a new perspective, uncovering hidden truths.
The release date and platform for “Who Killed Diana?” have yet to be announced.
